‘A Hero’ to vie at Kolkata filmfest

Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi’s ‘A Hero’ is scheduled to vie at the Kolkata International Film Festival in India.

The award-winning film will vie at the International Cinema section of the 27th edition of the event.

A Hero’ that recently grabbed the grand prix at the Cannes Film Festival is also selected as Iran’s Academy Awards entry.

Farhadi, the two-time Oscar winning filmmaker, will be honored by Creative Impact in Directing Award dedicated by Variety, American Media Company, at the 33rd edition of the PSIFF.

Director of ‘A Separation’ will be celebrated for his latest feature ‘A Hero’ and his entire artistic productions such as ‘Everybody Knows’ and ‘The Salesman’.

‘A Hero’ is about Rahim, a divorced man who has been imprisoned due to unpaid debt. During a two-day leave, Rahim tries to prove that he is a good person.

According to the official website of the Kolkata International Film Festival, “it is proposed for the cine lovers, critics, actors and others so that they continue to feel the pulse of the gala international film festival in the cultural capital of India even in this pandemic situation”.

The 2022 edition of the event will be held on January 7-14.
